Beer Dude Observation #2

Beer Dude Observation #2

OK………..let’s get started on our journey to explore the beer scene around Asheville.
I’ve been thinking about what kind of strategy to use……..newest/oldest………closest/farthest……North/East/South/West…..I could go on but I won’t. Let’s see how it goes.

So to start I’m going with my most recent brewery visit.
Heard of Whistle Hop? Out US74 in Fairview.
As a venue it’s certainly unique……located in a caboose………as in….a train car.

It was visit #69 on my brewery hit list that currently stands at 70 and is destined to grow.

They brew some very nice stuff………most recently I absorbed a Banana Wheat Hefenweizen. Nice.
The caboose itself seats about 15…….with some standing room left for others.
If you happen to be claustrophobic stay outside on the deck. Nice view, free peanuts and a game area.
Outdoor heaters for the hearty and plenty of seating. Pizza place next door and a couple of Local Joints nearby.
Well worth the short trip out to Fairview. You won’t be disappointed.

PS………Troyer’s Amish Country Store is nearby and it’s definitely worth a visit. I go there often for popping corn (large kernel that produces LARGE popcorn) and for sweet Lebanon bologna which is DELICIOUS.
