Broker Asheville Gets in the Holiday Spirit By Giving Back

When the holidays roll around, Keller Williams’ agents forgo their finest holiday apparel. Instead, hundreds gather at Highland Brewing for the annual Fashion Victims’ Ball—Asheville’s best showing of tacky holiday outfits, eighties prom dresses, and outrageous thrift store finds. Proceeds benefit local nonprofits selected by participating agents.
The Broker Asheville Team had a ball, and we did look fantastically terrible if we do say so ourselves. But more importantly, we were thrilled to be a part of this local effort to generate over $40,000.
This year we’ve decided to spread the love around town to our team’s favorite nonprofits and charities.
Jeff and Leah Stewart are happy to give to the Buncombe County Library Children’s Department (two-year-old Jackson Stewart’s home away from home), our stellar local NPR affiliate WCQS, and the Asheville Design Center
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society works for a world free of MS. This is an effort that Chad Capobianco is passionate about. Our donation will go towards research and efforts to improve the quality of life of people living with MS in the Carolinas.
Outdoor fanatic Bret Frk introduced us to the NC Outward Bound Student Scholarship Program, which provides life changing wilderness experiences to diverse participants. We’re delighted to contribute.
Homeward Bound’s work to end homelessness is particularly close to the hearts of the Broker Asheville Team. We’re making a donation to help support their efforts on behalf of Broker Asheville’s Joanna Baker.
Kevin Campton is an animal lover, and he’s inspired by Rudy to the Rescue, a program at REACH that provides veterinary care for families in need. Our dollars will help care for Asheville’s four leggeds.
Black Mountain Home for Children has been caring for local orphaned, abandoned, neglected, and abused children for over a century. Broker Asheville’s donation honors Dara Horstkemper.
Alyson Clark’s passion about housing transcends real estate. Her dream of providing permanent housing to homeless women and children inspires us to contribute to ABCCM’s Transformation Village.
In this holiday season when so many of us are so grateful for our blessings, Eblen Charity works hard to insure that families facing difficult times will have the resources to celebrate. As a mom to little ones, Broker Asheville’s Leigh Smith knows just how important this is, and so we’re giving to Eblen, too.
As 2015 comes to a close, we’re celebrating our best year yet. We can’t think of a better way to get in the holiday spirit than by giving back and by wishing you a happy holiday—from our homes to yours! See you in the new year!
