Before joining Jeff Stewart’s Broker Asheville team at Keller Williams, Leigh Smith traveled all over the world, taught kindergarten, and became the mom to two little ones. But after making her home in Asheville, she decided to help others find the perfect spot.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Greensboro, NC. I attended UNCG, where I majored in Parks and Recreation Management and UNCA, where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.
Q: Why real estate?
A: In 2014, I joined Broker Asheville as a buyer specialist. I love working with people and searching for homes. Asheville has so many great neighborhoods. Over the 15 years I’ve been in Asheville, I’ve lived in West Asheville, Montford, and Kenilworth. I’ve enjoyed all three! I work really hard to get to know my buyers so that I can find a home they will enjoy living in.
Q: What’s the best part of what you do?
A: Telling people that their offer was accepted! I always advise buyers to enjoy the process.
Q: When you’re not assisting Broker Asheville’s clients, what are you up to?
A: Playing with my kids! I love going to the gym, sitting on the patio by our fire pit, and playing in the river with my kids. You can also find me hiking at Max Patch, the Laurel River, and Black Balsam.
Q: What’s your favorite hidden gem in Western North Carolina?
A: If I told you, then it wouldn’t be hidden anymore!
